The library's mission is to support and enrich the academic and technical needs of the students, faculty and staff of the Blue Hills Regional Technical High School. Information literacy skills are promoted ; and a love of reading and lifelong learning is encouraged.
The library provides a welcoming environment for all students, faculty, and staff. It offers a diverse collection of print and digital resources including books, periodicals, newspapers, e-books and databases.
The library is more than books in a room. It provides a safe place for students to read, study, or collaborate for group projects. In addition, students are provided with desktop computers, printers, a comfortable seating area, several tables, a digital whiteboard and a computer lab. Staff also helps students with research, papers, citations, and much more. Students learn critical reading and analytic skills that can help them succeed not only in school but in their everyday lives.
The Thomas F. Mellett Memorial Library is named after one of our beloved English teachers who passed away in 2002. Mr. Mellett was a strong advocate of the importance and value of a school's library.
Library cards are not needed! Materials may be borrowed by seeing the librarian at the circulation desk.
